How to Find Cheap Hotels Using RoomGator.com

July 26th, 2010

When you travel there are many possibilities available. There are so many places to go and so many things to see. Often the only restriction is the date or dates you can travel. The nice thing about Roomgator.com is that you do not need a lot of information before you start browsing the possibilities.

The way that RoomGator.com is set up is that it is a mega hotel search service. It incorporates all the information that dozens of other sites compile. These other site include Hotels.com, ebookers.com, HotelClub.com, Expedia.com, Ratestogo.com, Venere.com, Priceline.com, Hilton.com, Booking.com, Laterooms.com, Choicehotels.com, intercontinental.com, Roamfree.com, Hotelopia.com, Otel.com, Skoosh.com, Lastminute.com, easyclicktravel.com, GTAhotels.com, Hotels4u.com, Accorhotels.com, Carlson.com, HRS.com, Reservetravel.com, Octopustravel.com, hotelschart.com, needitnow.com, bookdirectrooms.com, Fastbooking.com, Travelocity.com, Agoda.com, and easytobook.com.
Of course, you need to have some sort of idea where to start. The reality of life is that our choices are usually limited by finances. Your ultimate goal in using RoomGator.com is finding cheap hotels. So when you sit down at the computer and open up the RoomGator site, you see that you have to enter a destination and a range of travel dates. Then all you need to do is click the Compare button and a whole series of hotels will appear with the prices and details. It is not uncommon to get a list of more than 100 hotels that match your dates and location.

If you are not sure about where you want to go, you can run a few searches based on different locations and get an idea of the prices you will pay according to the selected location.
The real benefit of using Roomgator.com is not just that you can see a huge list of possibilities but that you do not have to search one site and then another and then another to get all the potential hotels. Usually the advice about looking for cheap hotels online is that you should look at as many sites as possible so that you will have a broad selection of hotels. With RoomGator.com, you only have to run the search once for a location and you have all the hotels in the area. This means that you can spend your time sorting your hotels by price and hotel amenities. Some people like to have wifi, others like to have a child-friendly hotel and others want a hotel that is near downtown. These are just examples of the needs of different people.

Another plus factor is that you can explore hotels in your price range and often discover factors that you would not otherwise consider. Many hotel sites have reviews and you know that these are genuine and not part of an elaborate advertising scheme. These reviews mention factors that are better to know about before you book your vacation. Perhaps there is construction or a noisy neighborhood or poor service. Only a review can give you warning of potential problems. RoomGator.com has the ability to make your search for cheap hotels as comprehensive as possible. With a few clicks of your mouse you can find the ideal package for your needs.

Top 5 Recommended hotels in Kolding, Denmark

June 13th, 2010

Kolding is an industrial city with shipbuilding one of its main businesses. Other businesses include machinery and textile manufacturing and livestock export. It is easier to find a hotel that is geared for business people than for family vacations and this is likely due to the industrial nature of the area. The top 5 recommended hotels in Kolding are:

First Hotel Kolding
The First Hotel is a basic hotel but it is clean and reasonably priced. It is part of one of the best hotel chains in Denmark. The rooms are pleasant but do not offer much other than the bed. There is no sofa to relax in while you chat. While some guests have not been impressed by the staff’s attitudes, other guests have praised the service. Also the breakfast is excellent.

Scandic Kolding South

This is a no frills hotel and there seems to be little attention to detail. But the price is reasonable. The restaurant prices were not so good and this is too bad as the restaurant does not have much else to recommend it. For instance, there is not a lot of choice of food. The breakfast, which is complementary, is surprisingly good given that the other meals are not so great.

Kolding Byferie
Kolding Byferie is situated on Lake Slottsö, which is beautiful and even has swans. There is also shopping a few meters from the hotel and the railway station is close to the building. Breakfast is not included in the price and it is not cheap but there are other restaurants close by. One of the good things is that you can rent a suite as well as a room. Since the rooms are small, the suite can easily accommodate you.

Hotel Koldingfjord
The Koldingfjord has large rooms and offers room service. There is an indoor swimming pool. It is an elegant place to stay and its closeness to the fjord makes for a great view.

Saxildhus Hotel
This is an historic hotel, more than 170 years old. The rooms are a good size and clean. The bathroom is very big which is a surprise as most Danish hotels seem to have small bathrooms. The location is very convenient location and the service is great. This is not the best price bargain in the area but the hotel does have a lot of charm, if you are into that kind of thing.

Top 5 Recommended hotels in Randers, Denmark

June 13th, 2010

Randers has a very long history – about a millennium long – and this shows in the architecture of the town which has half-timbered buildings dating back to the 1600s. While Randers is not considered a destination in itself, the town has enormous charm. The top 5 recommended hotels in Randers are:

Clarion Collection Hotel Kronjylland
This hotel gets rave reviews all the time. It is peaceful with large airy rooms. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is plentiful and healthy. The place is clean and located close to shopping, including supermarket shopping.

Scandic Hotel Kongens Ege
The Scandic Kongens Ege is just a few meters from the heart of Randers. It is near the cinema, the shopping area and the main restaurants in the town. There is the usual large (and free) breakfast and a better than average restaurant. On the downside, the rooms tend to be a little worn-out looking but they are clean.

Hotel Randers
The Hotel Randers is actually on the shopping street so that is very convenient for guests. This means that it is also close to the restaurant area. When you book your room, be aware that the single rooms are very small. They can only accommodate a single bed. The hotel is old and does show signs of its age but it has a charm to it that makes up for the worn-out look. The food is good but the service tends to be slow.

Fladbro Kro
If you choose to stay at the Fladbro Kro you are in good company. Hans Christian Andersen stayed here in 1857 and loved it. The hotel was old even then, having been in service since 1737. It has always had the reputation of quality service and quality food. Of course, it has been updated to meet the current standards for comfort and cleanliness. It is set in a lovely area, near two little rivers, Gudenå and Nørreå. There is also a golf course nearby.

Motel 1
Motel 1 is a self-service motel where you can check in using one of the automated machines at the motel. The credit card you check in with opens your door and also allows you access to the breakfast restaurant. You can book a room for up to 5 people and if you want to stay for more than one night or if you are part of a larger group, you can make prior arrangements. The rooms are non-smoking rooms and the accommodations come with a daily newspaper, a desk, and satellite/cable TV.

Top 5 Recommended hotels in Gladsaxe

June 11th, 2010

Gladsaxe has a population of 62,000 and is considered to be a lively city with a rich cultural and social life as well as natural surroundings that are beautiful. When it comes to accommodations in Gladsaxe, there are not a lot of choices. Of the following reviews, only the Leda is located right in Gladsaxe. The other hotels are not far from Gladsaxe so they can meet your accommodation needs for Gladsaxe.

Leda
The Leda Hotel is conveniently located near transport routes, the airport and the downtown area of this Kopenhagen suburb. The hotel atmosphere is cozy, historical and sophisticated without being overwhelmingly so. Gladsaxe is considered a posh area of the country and as such is not heavily endowed with chain hotels.

Scandic Eremitage
In nearby Lyngby, the Scandic chain hotel is a good choice for those visiting the Gladsaxe area. It is located in a suburban shopping mall which offers a lot of convenience for those who want choices in basic restaurants and the ease of shopping. The Eremitage may be a little run down with the wear and tear showing in the floors and the rooms but the staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is great. The most important aspects of hotels is the beds and these beds are wonderful.

Hotel Frederiksdal
Another Lyngby hotel, the Frederiksdal is set on the river, near the lake. This location is the best part of the hotel so ask for a lakeside room. Otherwise, the hotel does not offer anything too spectacular in the way of rooms or food.

Hotel Ebeltoft Strand
The hotel is locat in Ebeltoft, about 11 km from Gladsaxe. It is a sprawling low-rise hotel and all the rooms overlook the sea. The ground floor rooms open right into the garden and a path to the sea shore. The rooms are large and there is a great play area for children outside and a children’s room inside with video games and other things for children to play with.

Hotel Wittrup Motel
Wittrup Motel is located at Albertslund, about 13 km from Gladsaxe. It is easy to travel from the Wittrup to any of the Kopenhagen region as there is a lot of public transportation as well as roads and highways. It is close to Vestskoven forest and the Ishøj beach. The Wittrup was founded by an American so the style is American.

Top 5 Recommended hotels in Gentofte, Denmark

June 7th, 2010

Gentofte is an upscale suburb of Kopenhagen but the hotel prices are somewhat lower than in the heart of Kopenhagen. Nevertheless they are not cheap as Danish costs are generally higher than in some other countries and certainly higher than in the United States. The top 5 recommended hotels in Gentofte are:

Gentofte Hotel
The Gentofte is a charming little place that is very clean and the rooms are a good size. They are large enough to contain a big chair and a desk as well as the bed. The hotel also provides free wifi. The food is not as good as in some other places but guests have praised the breakfast (not included in the price of the room). (Hotel details and price comparison here..)

Hellerup Parkhotel
The Hellerup is in the middle of Gentofte. This makes it quite convenient and of course it is near Kopenhagen which makes it even more convenient. However the rooms are not large and that is a bit of an understatement. In one review, the guest reports having to put the mattress on the floor as the bed itself was too cramped in an alcove of the room. There is free wifi and also free internet terminals on each floor. (Hotel details and price comparison here..)

Skovshoved
While not the cheapest of the hotels in the area, this is a seaside (one block from the beach) hotel that is only 15 minutes by bus to the center of Kopenhagen. The staff is gracious and welcoming. The place has a historic feel while being quite modern at the same time. The rooms have little extras such as sweet and Molten Brown toiletries. The food is excellent. (Hotel details and price comparison here..)

Schæffergården
This hotel is located in an 18th century hunting lodge. The rooms all overlook a park and are well equipped with a work desk and a tea/coffee maker along with the standard cable TV. The location is lovely and a vacation in itself. Even though it is in the suburbs, it is only 8 km from the center of Kopenhagen and very close to the Jægersborg Dyrehave Park where you can canoe and go horseback riding.

Bernstorff Palace
The hotel is actually an 18th-century palace. It was the summer residence of Christian IX of Denmark until 1906 and a lot of the old majesty of the place still lingers. For instance, there is a rose garden and an orangery. As well as being historic and beautiful, Bernstorff Palace is convenient. You can walk to Gentofte Station in less than 20 minutes and the Copenhagen Central Station is a mere eight stops away.
